Forensics

When I was in eighth grade, I registered to take a debate class during my freshman year of high school. Several months later, when I actually started high school, I was in for a big surprise. When I showed up in class, the teacher started talking about competitions and events which were coming up. I had no idea that this would actually be a competitive class, and at first I was kind of nervous. As I started to learn about debate and practice, I found that I actually liked it. I started as a policy debater and then moved on to congress and extemporaneous speaking. Speech and debate was where most of my friends were and an activity that I did all four years of high school. Rules and regulations for most of the competitions are set by the NFL (National Forensics League) and points earned at competitions are recorded and earn "degrees" within the NFL. I left high school with the degree of superior distinction. My NFL record appears below.
